Built by someone who fixes pinball machines
Not a distributor or a dropshipper. A Kingston, Ontario technician who has spent years inside these cabinets and got tired of watching good machines sit dead for want of a board.
Good machines shouldn't sit dead
A pinball machine that only needs its MPU replaced is a special kind of frustrating. The playfield is clean, the mechs work, the cabinet is solid, but without a working brain board it's an expensive piece of furniture.
Drop Targets started from that frustration. After years of repairing machines, sourcing boards and watching repair costs price people out of the hobby, there was a better option: FPGA and Linux-based replacements that boot faster, protect your hardware, and cost a fraction of an original board on the secondary market.
Every board we carry is an open-source design from lisy.dev. We source, assemble, test and ship them from Canada, so you're not waiting weeks at the border or paying surprise duties.
The goal is simple: keep the machines running. Whether it's a Gottlieb Black Hole you've owned for twenty years or a Williams Black Knight from an estate sale, the board shouldn't be what stops you playing it.
How we work
Tested before it ships
Every board gets a real power-on test before it leaves. You shouldn't have to troubleshoot a board that never worked.
Open source, always
Schematics, Gerbers and firmware are public via lisy.dev. Audit it, build your own, or modify it.
Canadian
Orders ship from Kingston. If something goes wrong you talk to a person, not a ticket system.
Honest specs
Known firmware issues and FPGA requirements are on the product page, before you order — not after.
How it works
- 01
We source
PCBs are ordered from JLCPCB using lisy.dev's open-source Gerber files. SMD parts are pre-assembled at the fab.
- 02
We assemble
Through-hole parts, DIP sockets and anything remaining are installed, and connectors are checked against the original board.
- 03
We test
Every board is powered on and verified before it is bagged. FPGA boards get a full flash and boot test.
- 04
We ship
Boards ship from Kingston with tracking, usually within 5–7 business days of your order.
- 05
You install
Seat the DIP ICs, slot the FPGA board, copy your game files to SD. Most installs take under 30 minutes.
